‘Tutor Assessment and Feedback: What has helped you and why? Have your (anonymous!) say.’
Student evaluations such as the National Student Survey for 3rd year undergraduates have identified the areas of assessment and feedback as key areas of concern. Higher education institutions and teaching staff are keen to look at both formative and summative assessment practices to improve learning, and to involve students in this review process. Therefore, at ESCalate we invite you to have your say by reflecting on your experiences of assessment and feedback and identifying what has worked and why.
To give you an idea of what we are looking for you can listen to some students’ views if you download these videos from the Higher Education Academy website.
We hope that you enjoy relating your insights; aside from the competition, ESCalate will be using all of the entries to feed back into our work with staff and therefore your efforts will help contribute to enhancing the student experience in Education departments across the UK.
The competition is open to students studying on Higher Education programmes across the UK (both undergraduate and postgraduate) in the field of Education e.g. Education Studies, Continuing and Adult Education, Initial Teacher Education and Lifelong Learning etc.
The winner will receive £300 and will also be invited to attend the Higher Education Academy’s Annual Conference on the 5th & 6th July 2011, held at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham, UK travel and accommodation paid. Those attending the Conference dinner will receive a certificate on the night. There is also a £100 prize for the runner up. Winning entries will be published on the ESCalate website.
This competition has now closed.
