Aim

To provide a stimulating and enjoyable way for adult learners to consolidate, reconfigure and add to their knowledge and understanding.

In brief

This teaching method makes use of a learning quiz at the beginning of a session for experienced, post-graduate learners. Here we describe one approach in some detail whilst giving some thought to one other use for the classroom quiz.

Context

The target group of students are postgraduates attending Masters or taught Doctorate level courses in "Educational Studies". They come from a variety of backgrounds from the UK and abroad. Although a minority are starting their careers in education many are mid-career professionals and have considerable experience and are working as Teachers, Head-teachers, local government education officers and training providers in the private sector.
