Aim
To develop a web based learning environment as part of a multi-media distance learning course
The Context
The web based learning environment is part of a multi-media distance learning course for teachers who are co-ordinating work on Gifted & Talented pupils in Excellence in Cities Schools.
In brief
The web-site has been divided into several areas. The course materials are organised into the three course units. There is a library where all the course readings are located and a Resource Base which has a range of practical resources e.g. policy checklists, useful web-sites, competitions, subject specific information and examples of good practice. There are areas where co-ordinators can communicate with each other - in Seminar groups led by a tutor and in Regional groups , which encourages sharing of information and ideas within a local context - all of which encourage communication of issues and ideas.
