Emma works at the University of Huddersfield in the School of Education where one of her principal roles is as Course Leader for BA (Hons) Religion and Education. She also has roles on the Masters and PhD programmes. Her main area of academic interest is religious studies, particularly Indian religions. Her PhD research on Jainism took her to India where she stayed with religious communities to learn about their beliefs and customs. She was awarded her doctorate from Cardiff University in 2002. At the time of writing, Emma is in the final year of an MSc on Multimedia and E-Learning delivered by the School of Education at the University of Huddersfield. The MSc has enhanced both her IT literacy and her understanding of a wide range of pedagogical issues concerning e-learning in teaching, learning and assessment.
