What is the workshop about?
Taking forward the ITE agenda
The aim of this event in Wales is to give an opportunity for colleagues to build on the collaboration which already exists between them to look at major issues facing Initial Teacher Education in Wales. It will provide a space to share ideas on developments in Wales and allow delegates to add their voice to the current debates.
The event is one of a series of seminars presented by TEAN and supported by ESCalate; there will be similar events in England, Northern Ireland and Scotland, focussing on issues relevant to each individual region of the UK. Outcomes from all four events will be reported on the TEAN and the ESCalate websites.
TEAN welcomes Dr Carl Peters, Dean of the Newport School of Education to give the opening keynote of the workshop. To start the afternoon session we welcome Professor John Parkinson Head of the Swansea School of Education at Swansea Metropolitan University to give the second keynote of the day. It is also hoped to invite other speakers – to be announced nearer the time.
Who is it for?
This event will be appropriate for all Initial Teacher educators in Wales, from HEIs or schools, and all those from organisations with an interest in Initial Teacher Education in Wales
