What is the workshop about? Responding to Change; the Importance of Collaboration
TEAN is running workshops specific to Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland on the theme of the future of teacher education. Each workshop is country specific under this broad theme. The aim of the Northern Ireland workshop is to give an opportunity to colleagues from a range of different interest groups to come together to discuss ideas for connectivity and collaboration between phases. This exciting and timely initiative will allow delegates time to discuss ideas, to identify the challenges and opportunities and to share thoughts on ways forward.
TEAN is delighted that Professor Peter Finn, the Principal of St Mary's College, Belfast will start the day with a keynote on this theme. In the afternoon we are pleased to welcome Eddie McArdle, Registrar and Gerry Devlin, Senior Education Officer from the General Teaching Council of Northern Ireland and Dr Tom Hesketh, Director of the Regional Training Unit in Northern Ireland who will speak to delegates on different aspects of connectivity and collaboration. There will be opportunities for group discussions leading to short presentations of ideas from delegates and the outcomes of the event will be posted on the TEAN and ESCalate websites.
We hope to welcome many colleagues to this workshop to add your ideas to our theme.
