Teaching the Global Dimension: A handbook for teacher education
The Development Education Project (DEP) based at Manchester Metropolitan University has issued a new handbook entitled: Teaching the Global Dimension.
The handbook has been produced to support the embedding of the global dimension in teacher education. Unique features of this teaching resource are:
- a framework for how the global dimension links to learning and teaching
- the QTS standards in a global learning context
- how mentors and tutors can support their trainees to engage with the Global Dimension
- an overview of questioning, critical thinking/literacy skills and teaching strategies
- how the Global Dimension links to other curriculum initiatives such as Every Child Matters and Community Cohesion
