Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) and Nottingham Trent University (NTU) in partnership with ESCalate, are pleased to announce the launch of a national special interest group (SIG) focusing on Assessment and Feedback. A one day event is being held at SHU on Monday the 8th of June 2009 to launch this new SIG. The theme for the launch is ‘Lost in Transmission’ focusing on the gap that is often found between the feedback tutors give to students, and the transmission of this feedback into something that students can subsequently use to improve their work.
We are delighted to have with us for the day, Professor Kathryn Ecclestone from Oxford Brookes University, who will be giving the keynote address for the day. There will also be a variety of sessions and talks hosted by SHU and NTU based around the theme of assessment and the transmission of feedback to students. For further information, please see the attached programme.
While registration for this event is now closed, if you would like further details about the event, please contact Graham Holden at SHU: firstname.lastname@example.org.
