Creativity in Initial Teacher Education (CITE)
The CITE resources are the result of a 2 year programme of work developed by Creative Partnerships in Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside, working with University Teacher Education partners in the North West of England.
Within the documents in this folder you will see how they:
- Embedded creativity within taught modules and courses
- Supported the mentoring of students in their school placement experience for a focus on creativity
- Worked in partnership with creative practitioners and the creative and cultural sector
CITE was made possible through funding from the Department for Children Schools and Families. Creative Partnerships is the Government’s flagship creative learning programme, developed and managed by Arts Council England. Creative Partnerships is designed to develop the skills of young people, raising their aspirations and equipping them for their futures. We foster innovative, long-term partnerships between schools and creative professionals, including architects, scientists, multimedia developers and artists. These partnerships inspire young people, teachers and creative professionals to challenge how they work and experiment with new ideas. Young people develop the skills they need to perform well not only in exams and extra-curricular activities, but also in the workplace and wider society.
