Organised by the Higher Education Subject Centre for Education ESCalate Monday 20th April Aston Conference Centre – Aston University, Birmingham
In April 2009, ESCalate will be hosting its first major conference specifically aimed at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students in education. The event will provide an exciting networking opportunity for students across the UK to come together to discuss experiences and share ideas, whether new to research or experienced.
We are delighted to have as our keynote speaker Professor Jim Conroy, Dean in the Faculty of Education at University of Glasgow, whose professional interests include ethics, philosophy and theology in education, and education leadership.
The conference will offer something for everyone. It will provide opportunities to hear students and tutors discussing their innovative approaches to working alongside each other including ESCalate student grant holders. Students will give poster presentations and there will be opportunities for everyone to engage in Open Space discussion. You will be able to take away fresh ideas and approaches to effective research.
A variety of parallel sessions will be offered including e-portfolio work, professional identity, professional learning and researching for self.
The event will also provide information about research funding opportunities.
Further information including a draft programme and booking details are available on our website.
