CPD in Education - South Wales

Date(s) Wednesday 11 July 2007
Venue University of Wales Institute Cardiff - Cyncoed Campus
Organised by ESCalate

Please note that this event has been rearranged from 14th May to Wednesday 11th July.

ESCalate are actively working with the CPD community throughout 2006/7 to arrange a series of events, one in Northern Ireland and two in Wales, with a linked event taking place in Scotland.

These events are an opportunity to hear first hand how the four countries of the UK are approaching the issue of CPD.

This event will focus the discussion on the Welsh approach, but with a comparative element so that the dat is useful to all attendees from HEIs and schools.

It is regarding CPD for teachers in schools which involves HEI staff delivering what is often Master's level work.

Invited speakers are:

  • Prof David Egan, University of Wales Institute Cardiff
  • Ken Jones, Swansea Institute of Higher Education
  • Gary Brace, General Teaching Council for Wales
  • Hugh Kearns, Stranmillis University College
  • Claire Whewell, University of Stirling
  • Dr Linda Rush, Edge Hill University
