What does being a Contact involve?
Contacts are our local links with individual Education Departments. Over 90% of university education departments have an ESCalate contact. We're working to recruit more contacts in FE colleges which run HE programmes.
The two main ways in which contacts support ESCalate are:
- By disseminating information to colleagues in the workplace, often by forwarding emails
- By acting as the institution's representative at relevant ESCalate events
Contacts are volunteers who make sure that ESCalate gets a high profile in their workplace. They circulate e-bulletins, newsletters and other publications and publicity material, put up posters, alert colleagues to relevant events and funding opportunities, and send us valuable feedback. Your department may have more than one contact, especially where staff work across split sites.
Contacts are members of staff. They don't need to be the HoD, a Doctor or a Professor. All that's needed is a commitment to teaching and learning, and a belief in the work of ESCalate.
If you would like to become a contact, go to the registration page and tick 'I am willing to be the ESCalate Contact', and we will get in touch to discuss your offer.
