Transition to Higher education from school: How to ease the transition from teaching in school to teaching in HE

After years of successful teaching in the school sector, becoming a newly appointed tutor on an ITE course can be daunting. The TDA has sponsored subject associations to produce resources to help ease this transition. For example, see those produced by the IT Network for newly appointed ICT tutors.

There is a wealth of information on all aspects of the work of a tutor - much of which would be of interest to any tutor, regardless of their subject or age phase.

Other subjects with websites which are constantly being developed are:

  • Art and design
  • Citizenship
  • Design and technology
  • Economics and business
  • English (including drama)
  • EAL (English as an additional language)
  • Geography
  • History
  • Mathematics
  • Modern foreign languages
  • Music
  • Physical education
  • Science

The websites for these can be accessed from the TDA website.
